About This Safari
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Upon stepping off your flight at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), a private Beryx Travel representative will greet you warmly at the arrivals lounge. Enjoy a smooth, private vehicle transfer through the city to your hotel base camp. Depending on your landing schedule, take advantage of an optional insider tour of Arusha. Explore the world-class African art collections at the Cultural Heritage Center, mingle with locals in the main markets, or browse the vibrant Maasai Market for hand-crafted souvenirs. Later that evening, your Lead Guide will join you for an extensive pre-trek safety briefing and gear check.
Accommodation: Karibu Heritage House, Arusha (A peaceful, comfortable city hotel serving as the perfect launchpad)
Meals: Breakfast included / Lunch & Dinner at own expense / Purified drinking water
Following a fresh breakfast at your hotel, your private vehicle will transport you on a scenic 1-hour drive into Arusha National Park, arriving at Momella Gate. After completing official park registrations and meeting your dedicated team of porters and an armed national park ranger, your trek begins. The lower slopes offer a true walking safari. You will steadily climb through open savannah grasslands and beautiful montane forests. Your ranger will guide you safely past grazing zebras, towering giraffes, warthogs, and cape buffalo families. The trail winds past the impressive Ngare Nanyuki River and stunning waterfalls. Arrive at Miriakamba Hut by late afternoon to enjoy hot tea and a fresh dinner prepared by your private chef.
Accommodation: Miriakamba Alpine Hut (Protected wood cabin dormitories)
Meals: All Meals Included (Purified mountain water, hot teas, and coffees)
Awaken to a hot beverage served right to your cabin room. Today's trek is shorter in distance but involves a steep, steady ascent up the mountain's spine. As you climb through the lush montane forest, the landscape transitions into the striking heath and moorland zones. The trail follows a well-maintained volcanic ridge, offering breathtaking views of the sweeping Meru Crater floor and the perfectly formed Ash Cone rising from the depths. Arrive at Saddle Hut (3,570m) in time for a hot, fresh lunch. In the afternoon, embark on an optional acclimatization hike to the summit of Little Meru (3,820m). This quick climb treats you to incredible, unobstructed views of Kilimanjaro glowing in the setting sun before you return for an early dinner and sleep.
Accommodation: Saddle Alpine Hut
Meals: All Meals & Non-Alcoholic Beverages Included
Your summit push begins at 1:30 a.m. with a midnight wake-up call and a light snack. Trekking under a brilliant starry sky, you will navigate a steep trail up to Rhino Point (3,800m). From here, the route gets exhilarating as you traverse a narrow, dramatic ridgeline composed of volcanic rock and ash scree, passing Cobra Point along the way. As dawn breaks, you will reach Socialist Peak (4,566m) — the true summit of Mount Meru. Celebrate your triumph as a stunning African sunrise lights up the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds in the distance. After capturing your victory photos, descend along the crater rim back to Saddle Hut for a hot, well-deserved brunch and a short rest. Unlike rushed tours that force you all the way down to the park gate today, you will make a gentle, knee-friendly descent back to Miriakamba Hut. Relax and share stories of your achievement over a fresh dinner under the stars.

Meals: All Meals & Non-Alcoholic Beverages Included
Enjoy a final morning in the mountain fresh air with a relaxed breakfast. Your last descent is a swift and easy journey down through the open grasslands and mixed tropical forests. By late morning, reach Momella Gate, where you will be rewarded with your official National Park Summit Certificate. Bid a warm farewell to your dedicated mountain crew before stepping into your private Beryx vehicle for a smooth transfer back to your hotel in Arusha or directly to the airport for your onward flight home.
